What we check
We focus on your network and its security: the equipment and settings that connect your team and keep your data safe.
Firewall and remote access
We review firewall rules, port forwards and VPN access, and look for anything that exposes your network to the internet.
Admin access
We check for default and shared passwords, two-factor authentication on admin accounts, and volunteers or former staff who still have admin access.
WiFi and guest access
We check your WiFi security, and whether visitors and volunteers on the guest WiFi are kept away from your files and donor data.
Equipment and firmware
We inventory your network equipment and flag anything that no longer gets security updates.
Internet and power
We check whether a single internet outage would take you offline, and whether your network equipment is on battery backup.
Backups and monitoring
We check whether your network settings are backed up, and whether anyone gets an alert when something goes down.

Nonprofit FAQs
Is the Checkup really free for non-profits?
Yes! Each month we do free Network & Security Checkups for 4 non-profit organizations. It's the same Checkup that businesses pay $795 for: the same review, the same written report and the same review call.
Do you provide IT support for non-profits?
We provide network and security services for nonprofits, not full IT support: firewalls, switches, WiFi and the connections between your sites. We don't provide day-to-day computer, email or software support. Many non-profits use us alongside whoever looks after their computers.
Do we qualify?
The free Checkup is for organizations in the United States with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. That includes charities, churches and other religious organizations, and private schools that hold 501(c)(3) status. When you apply, include your EIN, and we'll confirm your status. Other types of tax-exempt organizations, such as 501(c)(4) and 501(c)(6) groups, do not qualify.
Is there a catch?
No. The report is yours to keep, and it's written so your own team or volunteers can work through it. If you'd like us to help with the fixes, we're happy to quote the work, but you're under no obligation.
What does the Checkup cover?
Your firewall and remote access, admin access, WiFi and guest access, how your network is divided, your equipment and firmware, your internet connection and power, and backups and monitoring. See the full Checkup.

The free Checkup covers one site. Tell us about your other locations when you apply, and we'll talk through the best way to cover them.
How long is the wait?
It depends on how many applications we have. We do free Checkups for 4 non-profits a month, and after you apply, we'll tell you when to expect yours.
Can non-profits outside the US apply?
The free Checkup is for US 501(c)(3) organizations only. Non-profits in Canada are welcome to book a Network & Security Checkup at the regular price of $795.
